Shaft horsepower meter

Display unit

A monitor that calculates and displays horsepower and torque from the rotation signal and sensor frequency signal sent from the detecting parts of shaft horsepower meter detector.

A sensor signal is sent by a carrier wave from the receiving antenna of the detector, and the carrier wave is demodulated to the original sensor signal by the demodulation board inside the display unit. The signal is accumulated for 5 seconds, the frequency is calculated, and the square of the frequency is sent to the display unit.

The shaft horsepower, torque, and shaft speed are calculated and displayed from the sensor signal, rotation signal, and zero point and K value stored in the display unit.

There are two types of SEC display units: the LED type that displays only the shaft horsepower, torque, and shaft speed, and the LCD type that displays performance curves, fuel consumption rates, and other operational data.

Shaft horsepower formula

Shaft horsepower (kW) is calculated by the following calculation formula.

G value (elastic coefficience) is used 82,400N / mm2 (= 84,000kg / mm2) according to ISO15016:2015/6.1 if no actual shaft torsional test certificate for the G-modulus is available.

The sensor sensitivity constant is determined for each sensor and the K value which is described in the K value certification sheet is used. The K value certification sheed is issued when delivered.
